　　故事以江户时代后期为舞台，最强死刑犯忍者「画眉丸」为了能再次与最爱的妻子见面，与处刑人「山田浅右卫门佐切」一同前往被称为极乐净土的小岛，找寻「不老不死的仙药」以换取无罪释放，并在岛上与神秘的怪物以及其他死刑犯互相残杀。
